Indian indices may witness a negative start on Thursday amid weak Asian cues. On Wednesday, the market closed lower amid volatility with heavy losses in IT, realty, power and pharma sectors. Globally, Wall Street indices fell in overnight session and the US dollar advanced after stronger-than-expected economic data failed to address investor concerns of high inflation and impending recession driven by rising oil prices. In Asia, indices opened weak tracking losses on Wall Street. Shares declined in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, and Shanghai.

Asian shares fall on inflation, recession concerns -
Asian share markets fell on Thursday on widespread investor worries over high inflation and the threat of recession, while oil prices slumped following a report of reassurances from Saudi Arabia over production.

Global benchmark Brent crude was last down more than 2% a barrel at $113.86 ahead of a meeting of oil producing countries later in the day, which is expected to pave the way for output increases.

U.S. crude also dipped more than 2% to $112.55 per barrel.
